Here is a selection of cards I made over the weekend. Several of them were made Friday afternoon at Treasure Your Memories, a local scrapbook store in Goldendale, WA. I had a great afternoon making cards and having fun with my friends Tracy and Kris!

Wednesday's Card

This card was for the sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I spent a lot of time trying to make this card fit the sketch - my brain doesn't work well with restrictions!! It is probably very good for me!

Tuesday's Christmas Card - a little late!

This is my favorite card as of yet! I love this angel stamp from Paper Pretties. She is so serene and calm. She looks like I would like to feel in the midst of the holiday season. I used Best Creations and Imaginisnce paper. The snowflakes are cut on my cricut and layered on pop up dots. There is a lot of depth to this card!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Okay just one more card...

Paper Pretties weekly challenge pulled me in, so here is one more card! I love this stamp too!

Christmas Cards

Here are two versions of the same card. Somewhere I saw a card that was similar to these - using the cuddlebug tree embossing folder and Paper Pretties Trim the Tree stamp set. I can't figure out where it was though! Anyway here are the cards....

The first one looks better on the computer but....

in real life the second one looks the best - or it would if the ribbon I put on it and then cut off it had worked! :)

The tree actually has quite a bit of glitter on it as does the little girls waist and arm bands. These are fun cards to make with all of coloring and cutting out! They make me feel like a kid again! Have a great evening and a Happy Thanksgiving week.

Please forgive...

the lapse in posting. I had an opportunity to surprise my husband by doing a bedroom makeover while he was out of town. It went awesome. I will try to post some pictures soon. Thank goodness for my friend Brenda - I would have never gotten finished without her. Unfortunately, this Wednesday I caught a heck of a cold... and I still have it! It is very difficult to understand how I manage to catch every single illness that comes along. My blood work comes back fine, I take vitamins and have been trying to exercise and get enough sleep. If anyone has any suggestions on how to overcome this tendency please let me know!

On a more upbeat note - how do you like my new blog background? It has been so much fun learning how to build it! The ladies at The Cutest Blog on the Block have free blog backgrounds you can use and if you look under blog secrets, they tell you how to design your own. I can barely contain my excitement! Go check them out!

Time - Art Journal Entry

Once in a while I try to stretch the bounds of my creativity. I usually need help to do this! So I take various online classes. Here is a sample of an art journal page from the class I am currently taking, Evidence - A Fill in the Blank Creative Workbook with Ashley Wren.

This class rocks - If she offers it again I highly recommend it! You get all sorts of cool printables and so much inspiration. I am on a mailing list for Scrap and Style, which is how I found out about the class. Here is a link to their site. http://www.sistvboutique.com/

Election Day

I hope that everyone got the chance to vote - it is so important to express your opinion! The election was well fought and it was conceded with true respect. Hopefully our president elect will be the man we are looking for. Hopefully the country will rally to support him. Hopefully the United States will remain united.... I could go on, however the word HOPE is the key in this post. It has become a catch phrase in this election. Remember the definition of Hope:

a: desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment ; also : expectation of fulfillment or success b: someone or something on which hopes are centered c: something hoped for

How do you define hope? Is it centered on one man or one administration or one nation? I don't have an answer yet myself, other than the feeling that all is not lost or even close to lost and that as a people we can go far. We can bring ourselves back from the brink and unite in hope.

Good night.
