Holly

I'd like to introduce you to Holly if you haven't already met her. She is from Charmed Cards & Crafts and is available as a digi download in a set of equally fabulous Pixie Chicks. She is so gorgeous! I had to add loads of glitter (Art Institute of course!) and liquid glass. The glitter to imitate snow and the liquid glass to add that reflective quality that holly leaves have.

The card was inspired by the challenge over at Dottie's World ~ base a card around the word holiday and use a Charmed Cards download. Simple enough! Wishing you a wonderfully creative week! Smiles ~ Brandi

Enchanted Slumber

I wanted to share a card with a digi stamp by Michelle Perkett. She draws some of the most enchanting digi stamps I have ever seen. You can find them here at her Etsy shop ~ michelleperkett.etsy.com. Michelle is sponsoring this week's Midnight Madness sketch, which my card is based on. I have used the digi stamp titled Enchanted Slumber. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Smiles ~ Brandi

VC Challenge Day!

Our first challenge is at the VC Stamp Challenges blog. My version of the challenge features Cell Phone Fairy, a darling rubber stamp by Victoria Case Art Designs. The challenge is to use blues and browns, so that's what I did plus added a tsp of glitter to the mix. :) The swirls were cut out with a QuickCutz die; the paper the butterflys were made from was ran through an embossing folder and then punched out with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. Everything was colored with prismas again.

The 2nd challenge is over at the Victoria Case group on Paper Craft Planet. There the challenge is Back to School. Victoria has released some new back to school digi's in honor of this challenge that are super cute. My card uses one of them, called E is for Eva. The card is based on Sketch 15 from Midnight Madness.

Paper is from Close to My Heart and the image is colored with Prismas.

Have a beautiful day! Smiles ~ Brandi

Dahlia's havin' a Goth Day

Dahlia was colored on our camping trip a couple of weeks ago and I finally had the time to make her into a card... lucky for me Splitcoast Stampers Wednesday sketch was perfect for her. I don't know about you but I'm glad the summer rush is slowing down a little. It's hard to be creative when you only have little chunks of time!
The striped paper is from my stash, black embossed is Making Memories, Cardstock from SU, Stamp: The Greeting Farm
Have a fabulous day! Smiles ~ Brandi

Wicked?

Have you read Wicked. I did... and I don't really know what I ended up thinking of it. But it did inspire the awesome skin tone on my witch! This image was such a blast to color.. the details are wonderful.

I used some of my hoarded Making Memories Spiderweb Paper, put some Sparkley Fluff on the clouds for dimension, used the glitter pen in various places, and colored with prismas. Hope you enjoyed meeting Mr. Moon and the fabulous mysterious witch. Click the link to be taken to Victoria Case Art Designs and you can have Mr. Moon at your house too...
Have a Happy Day! Smiles ~ Brandi

New VC for SCACD Sneak Peak

***Please Note.... this is my second post for today. Please scroll down to see the first card for the VC Challenge Blog. Thank you!***

Will you look who boot scooted into my mailbox? Meet Taylor the cutest cowgirl ever! She is part of the new release by Victoria Case for SCACD which will be available for purchase tomorrow! These stamps are super cute!

Her hat, shirt and boots are paper pieced, with the hat and boots popped up for depth. I colored her skin with Copics and her jeans and belt with Prismas... this time I colored the skin first! LOL. Designer Paper is Junebug from Basic Grey and DCWV Crafty stack. The card is loosely based on one of the new Mojo Monday sketches. Hope your day is rockin! Smiles ~ Brandi

The card that almost wasn't!

It's Thursday so that can only mean one thing.... VC Stamp Blog Challenge Day! I hope you can join us!

My card almost didn't make it in time. The Norton subscribtion on my laptop expired and I had to get the newest version... which I did and I installed it on Sunday. Since then, I haven't been able to transfer any pictures from my camera to my laptop. So this afternoon, after almost two hours (1.5 hours holding) and unistalling Norton following the advice from the help line, nothing worked! They told me to call the camera manufacturer.... which I did. I wish I would have called them in the first place. 10 minutes and everything worked like a dream. Thank you Canon!

I had my image all printed out and I colored it in with pencils and decided at the last minute to color the skin with Copics.... THIS IS A BAD IDEA!! The Copic marker picked up a little of the black from her hair and black ended up all over her face. So out came the pencils again (after a minor panic attack) and lots of shading later, the image was saved. Breath of relief! I then added Liquid Glass and Stickles... lots and lots of Stickles and left the image to dry while I visited with my niece and nephew. My niece is fairly crafty for a 6 year old so the first place she goes in my house is the craft room.... and the first thing she touched is the image with all the wet stickles. Big mess. Did you know that you can scrape wet stickles off using the edge of paper? It can be done. So I fixed the image again and took everyone swimming and left the image to dry in piece. So that is the tale of the card that almost wasn't! Hope you have a beautiful day! Smiles ~ Brandi

This image makes me smile and feel content and happy. It makes me think of sunshine, flowers, happiness and of course... Joy. The name of the image is Soaking Up the Joy and it was illustrated by Mo.

My card is based on this sketch from I heart 2 Stamp. Jen has wonderful sketches! All papers are from Basic Grey and Stampin Up. The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and the butterfly was spritzed with Baby Breath Shimmerz.

Mo is an amazing artist who makes digital stamps that simply vibrate with life. Meet John... he has a brother and two sisters. You can see them here. The hardest decision you will have to make is choosing which image to buy first! LOL!

AMYR Sketch w/ Sandra Dry Fairy

Here is a quick card I made so my blog wouldn't be naked today. :)
It is based on an AMYR sketch ( AMYRTFS4) and features a Sandra Dry fairy. Papers are from K & Co and Stampin Up. Image is colored with copics and stickles. I know the card is fairly simple and doesn't have a sentiment, but sometimes it's nice to have that type of card around. It makes it easy to turn into a thank you card or birthday card or whatever!

Lily at the beach

I wanted to post one last card for my Spotlight Stamper stint for SCACD. I used Lily at the Beach, cut her out and popped her up on a tag that I airbrushed. The sketch is from Midnight Madness at Pricillastyles. Super short post today... I have lots of projects I am working on and my niece and nephew are coming over in a while to swim. Have a happy Sunday!
