Couch Gift Tin

Modern Sugar Blvd is releasing tons of new digi images. This is one is a couch. Yep.... a couch. Now what could one do with a couch? This question has been rolling round in my brain for about a week. I thought of all sorts of things: a relax card, a gift card for a new home, a come visit card, a movie night at home basket, a welcome gift basket... I could go on! :O)

What I finally decided on is a glimpse of a living room. A super cozy and comfortable couch, a warm afghan and a window with a bird in it! Ahhhh. This gift tin will hopefully be used to bring someone some comfort. It will be filled with cookies or another goodie!

The tin is colored with alchol inks ~ I forgot how much fun they can be! Be on the look out from more projects with them. Paper is My Mind's Eye and the window was made by taking popdot strips to form the frame and then I dipped it in glitter. My husband was laughing at me. He said "Good thing we don't have a window like that in our house - you would never move!" I asked him what that meant, but he just laughed some more and walked away!

Rough Day??

This little digi dino from Dustin Pike is looking a little down in the dumps. He must have had one heck of a rough day! I love the expressions on Dustin's creations.. they convey tons of emotion. This is actually a bandaid box covered in Sassafrass Paper and a strip of Imaginisce. A super easy project that says alot! Have a happy Tuesday!

This Fairy Dragon has so much personality! As soon as I saw her the sentiment popped into my head. She is all blinged out too ~ Victoria Case is having a challenge on SNR Card Universe involving blinged out creatures. I wish I knew how to make blingy letters... that would be too cool on this post!

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend - mine flew by so fast I didn't even realise I hadn't posted yesterday until this afternoon.. oops! It was definately a wild and woolly weekend for us here. :)

This card was made for the Twisted Thursday Challenge. The sketch certainly got twisted! Hope it still qualifies.

Lucy Ketto ~ Bellarific Friday

Say Hi to Lucy Ketto! She is visiting from Stamping Bellaland. As one of the Ketto family, she know all about being different and wants everyone to not be afraid of being themselves. ;)

This card was made for bellarific friday and for the I heart 2 stamp sketch. I used all sorts of papers... Bo Bunny, My Mind's Eye and DCWV. The sparkle is Art Institute Glitter on the fairy, Heidi Swapp rhinestones, and came with the papers.

New Digi Stamps are Up!

I adore the new digi stamps Victoria has released! They are so darling and.... they are only $2.00 each for this release! Two dollars! Isn't that amazing? There are a lot more to choose from too! There were a total of 10 new stamps released today at Victoria Case Art Designs!

This picture is a little dark.. I was trying to capture the sparkle, but I think I washed it out a bit instead. Sorry about that!

Okay, now onto a totally different subject ~ Spring! I do an internal happy dance everytime I go outside and see new green leaves and colorful spring bulbs. Happy, happy, happy!

A Little Gorjuss Girl

Good Morning!

Here is a quick card I made this morning based on the Sugar Nellie Sketch at The Sugar Bowl. These Gorjuss Girls are so fun to color, though I think I do things a little backwards compared to other people. My images get colored first in whatever color seems best and then I pick out my papers. What do you do first? Color or pick paper?

Birthday Dragon

Talk about a fun card to make! This image screamed "BOY" to me, so using the weekly sketch from PCP, a birthday card worthy of any BOY I know was created. LOL

You pick can up Dragon Fly from Dustin Pike, he has a lot of digi stamps for sale and they totally rock!

Let's Party People! Modern Sugar Blvd is opening their new store tomorrow, April 20th at noon MST. There will be Grand Opening Celebrations all week so stop by and check them out! There will be more details on the Sugar blog later on today.

I don't think I officially told you yet, but I am going to be a member of the design team! I'm pretty excited! This card and layout were my submission for the second round of the design team call. They are not quite my usual style, but I really hope you like them. It was wonderful to make a scrapbook layout again. I haven't really scrapped in a couple of months and it's easy to forget how fun it can be!

This stamp called Kissing Dragons from Victoria Case is soooo much fun to play with! Just the coloring possiblities on the dragon alone are spectaluar! The tower was inspired by Claire Brennon she does the most amazing things and then makes tutorials so the rest of us can too! Thank you Claire! This tower is just a bit different as the sizes were altered for 12x12 paper.

The gift set could be used for a thank you or change the sentiment and use it for a birthday. Couldn't you imagine a princess party with these as the party favors? Too much fun!

Sugar Nellie Daisy ~ Missing You

My first completed card in the new house! You should see it.. talk about a mess! The house itself is from the 1910's and hasn't been taken very good care of for the last 30 years. My husband and I fell in love with it though... last year. Things didn't work out then, but (knock on wood) they seem to be now. :) Steve (my husband) has been working on the upstairs; ripping out nasty, nasty carpet and underlayment, sanding, installing drywall, fixing walls, and lots of painting. The downstairs is liveable but will take some work ~ eventually the house will have to be leveled up and definitely repainted. Until my craft room is completed upstairs, every card will be a limited supplies challenge! LOL I get too irritated digging through tons of boxes! Hope you all had a very happy day!

New Release of Digi Stamps at Victoria Case

When I first saw this image from Victoria I knew I needed to make a card with the "Pig" Joke. This is the first joke my husband taught my neice that she actually remembers and repeats! LOL!

It goes like this: What to hear a dirty joke? (Everyone is kinda wondering what the heck kinda joke a 6 year old is going to tell at this point!) Pig jumped in the mud! My neice is getting a lot of milage out of this joke!

Modern Sugar Blvd.

Hi Everyone!! There is a new digi stamp (and possibly more) store opening soon called Modern Sugar Blvd. I believe the grand opening date is set for April 20th. Right now they are looking for a design team and are offering this cute little lady for free, so that people can use her to make a project and apply to be on the team. If you visit their blog Modern Sugar Blvd. you can save a copy for yourself!

This card has buckets of glitter on it!! From the Doodlebug glitter paper to the glitter on her scarf and boots! The dress and boots are paper-pieced onto the image to give it a little extra kick! Hope you like her!

Lets Do Lunch

Here is a silly little card... the image is another digi one by Victoria Case called Cat/Fish. It cracks me up, because the cat and the fish are obviously thinking two very different things! I used liquid glass on the fish bowl, though it is hard to tell in the photo - it adds dimension and makes the fish bowl look like it has water in it. Paper is from Daisy Bucket, lace from Prima and baubles from Stamping Bella. Have a Happy Tuesday everyone!

I got through streaks where I like to create from sketches... there are so many great challenges out there in blogland, but never enough time to do them all! Here's a quick little card I made last night featuring one of my favorite fairies.... drumroll please.... TINK!! Gotta love her... How I love the Tinkerbell Movie and Peter Pan. They are some of my favorite shows. :) The castle stamp in the background is from Susana's store, it is part of the Faerie Song Art Stamps line. Tink is from The Greeting Farm of course! It's fun to mix and match stamps from various companies and see what is created!
